Mark Fliderman
Cello / Spain
Mark Fliderman was born in Spain and began his musical studies in Gijón, majoring in cello and piano. He has been studying with Dmitri Tsirin since 2017 and was recently awarded the Artistic Prize Scholarship of the Katarina Gurska Foundation, which enabled him to continue his advanced training under Tsirin’s guidance.
In 2024, he was awarded Second Prize at the Concurso de Corda Cidade de Vigo. Since 2021 he participats at the the Goppisberg Music Festival and Academy and has attended masterclasses with renowned cellists including László Fenyő, Alban Gerhardt, and Gregor Horsch, among others.
As an orchestral musician, Mark Fliderman has collaborated with leading ensembles such as the Madrid Symphony Orchestra (resident orchestra of the Teatro Real), the Spanish National Youth Orchestra (JONDE), and the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO). He has worked under the direction of distinguished conductors including Nicola Luisotti, Jonathan Nott, Vasily Petrenko, Iván Fischer, Gianandrea Noseda, and Gustavo Dudamel.
Since 2024, Mark Fliderman has been playing a cello by Josef Anton Haff, built in 1853 in Augsburg, generously loaned to him by the Albert Eckstein Foundation.
