JUAN DIEGO GALINDEZ GUTIERREZ

Piano / Colombia / Germany

After completing his studies at the Cauca’s University under the guide of the Prof. Manfred Gerhardt
in his native Popayán, the colombian pianist Juan Diego Galindez moved to Germany, where he
obtained one Master Degree in Chamber Music with the Prof. Peter Orth and another one in Lied
Accompanying with the Prof. Manuel Lange at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold.
As a soloist, he has played concerts at different halls and with several colombian orchestras as the
Chamber Orchestra Unicauca, Philharmonic Orchestra of Cali, Symphony Band of Valle and the
Caucamerata.

His work as a chamber musician has been intense, taking part in festivals and scenarios in Colombia
and Europe, like the Religious Music Festival of Popayán, the Claribogotá Festival (Colombia), the
Musiktage Mondsee (Austria), the Letenia Akademiea Muzyczna (Poland), the Muzikkking Bathmen
(Nederlands), Richard Straus Anniversary (Germany), Forum about Carl Maria von Weber (Mainz,
Germany), the Sound of Füred (Hungary), two broadcastings of chamber music pieces by Johannes
Brahms and Nino Rota for the German Kultur Radio in 2012 and 2019. In 2023 he participated at the
International Festival Confluence in Paderborn, Germany, as the director of Juan Diego Galindez Project,
an expetimental Ensemble.

In June 2018, Juan Diego won the first price at the “Auryn” Chamber Music Competition as a member
of the “DT Quintett”, in the category piano and strings, in Germany.
Currently, he works as a pianist accompanist at the Prof. Thomas Christian’s violin lessons and the Prof.
Janos Balint’s flute lessons in the Hochschule für Musik Detmold in Germany
