Johannes Hehrmann

Born in Hannover, Johannes began his studies with Winfried Rademacher. After finishing his bachelor degree he moved to the USA to pursue an „Artist Diploma“ at CCM in Cincinnati with Kurt Sassmannshaus and regularly received lessons with Dorothy DeLay, Henry W. Meyer, Peter Oundjian and the Tokyo String Quartet. He completed his studies with Federico Agostini and Eckhard Fischer in Germany and was admitted to the string quartet studio of the Melos Quartett. He also participated in masterclasses with Joseph Silverstein and the Artemis Quartet.
In 2002- 2006 Johannes was teaching at the Conservatory of Music in Trossingen and became a member of the Verdi Quartet from 2006 – 2008, with whom he recorded chamber music works by J. Brahms for Deutschlandradio and “Hänssler Classics“. He was also teaching at the Festival Vielsaitig in Füssen, and giving masterclasses at the Music Conservatory in Mannheim and in Hong Kong.
After several years as a freelance musician he joined the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra in 2004 white whom he is touring internationally. He is also a regular guest with other orchestras – favorably as section leader. Johannes has a very broad repertoire as a chamber musician which reaches from early music over a large string quartet and piano trio repertoire to crossover projects and contemporary/ experimental music.
In 2023 he founded the “Open Stage Masterclasses”, a masterclass for young musicians and ensembles and received cultural fundings by the City of Heilbronn for this project over the last 3 years.
