Artsvik Hovumyan

Violin / Armenia / Germany

Artsvik Hovumyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia, in 1989. She received her first violin lessons at the age of six. Due to her talent, she was admitted to the Sayat-Nova Music School for highly gifted musicians in Yerevan and studied with Prof. S. Karapetyan.

In 2005 Artsvik continued her professional training at the Yerevan Conservatory of Music, studying with Prof. A. Harutyunyan. Between 2011-2015 she was a student at the University of Music in Karlsruhe where she was taught by Prof. Josef Rissin.

Artsvik Hovumyan won the third prize at the Aram Khachaturyan International Competition and the first prize at the Kamerton International Competition and was awarded prizes at several other state competitions. Artsvik Hovumyan has demonstrated her musical talents at numerous concerts in Armenia, Georgia, Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium, France and Austria.

Artsvik attended master classes with the professors Philipp Koch, Karen Aroutiounian, Nana Jaschwili and Albrecht Breuninger.

Since 2008 she has been working as a violin teacher, in the beginning at the  Babadjanyan Music College in Armenia  and subsequently in Germany.

Her students have been awarded several prizes at national and international competitions.
