Bernard Corazolla

Viola / Germany & Switzerland

Bernard Corazolla comes from Cologne (Germany) and comes from a musical family. At the age of seven he began to play the violin. After ten years he switched to the viola. This is followed by studies at the Detmold University of Applied Sciences and the Düsseldorf University of Music. Shortly after beginning his studies, he was hired by the Rhenish Chamber Orchestra and various other orchestras (including the Kölner Philharmoniker, Basel Sinfonietta, RIAS Youth Symphony Orchestra Berlin). In 1994 internship at the Düsseldorfer Sinfoniker. Master and chamber music courses as well as concert tours in Switzerland and abroad (including Switzerland, France, Spain, Italy) accompany the studies, which Bernard Corazolla successfully completed in 1998 with a master's degree in orchestra. From 1991 to 1996 and 2000 to 2009 teaching as a lecturer at chamber music courses in Switzerland.

From 1997 to 2001, Bernard Corazolla was the 2nd principal violist of the Zurich Symphony Orchestra. From 2000 to 2010 solo violist of the Collegium Cantorum Switzerland and since 2005 solo violist of the orchestra Camerata Cantabile. Bernard Corazolla has been teaching violin and viola at the Zurich Oberland Music School since 2008. Since 2011 he has been teaching viola at the Musikschule Einsiedeln. Numerous chamber music projects as well as long-term collaborations in a string quartet and string trio characterize the work of Bernard Corazolla. Again and again Mr Corazolla is also engaged as a baroque violist (Bach-Collegium Zürich).
